Just under 2 years since the release of Street Fighter V, Capcom have released Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition, the biggest patch/update the game has seen since it’s release.
For those unfamiliar with the game, Street Fighter V has seen updates in the form of Seasons 1 & 2 and the “A Shadow Falls” cinematic story mode. Outside of them the game still lacked the highly requested Arcade Mode, something Capcom has taken on board and outdone themselves with in this edition.
Before we get down to the facts it’s worth pointing out that owners of the original Street Fighter V need not worry, Arcade Edition for vanilla users is free at the expense of a 21gb Patch. This patch includes all of the upgrades but doesn’t unlock the Season 1, 2 or 3 downloadable characters, save data, stats, League Points & Fight Money will transfer over.
New challengers who buy Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition will receive the Season 1 and 2 characters plus costumes, this is either bought digitally or physically which will be the standard disc and the DLC on a redeemable code.
So, what are the new changes I hear you cry!, well ask no more.
New V-Triggers for the cast
Barrel Breaking Bonus Stage
Arcade Mode based on various Street Fighter titles
200+ endings to unlock
Extra Battle Mode
Team Battle Mode
All of this is looking fantastic, The Extra Battle mode especially looks like it’ll be a fantastic way to earn Fight Money and premium costumes!.
Season 3 of Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition also features a mix of returning and original characters. Kicking off the release with Sakura, Highly popular and avid reader of our site (We promise!). It looks like Capcom are truly putting the effort in with this title to make up for it’s rocky launch.
We have had no access to this prior to release so please bare with us, we will take a week or so to really get our hands dirty with the title and see if it’s the update we have been clamouring for.
