King of Fighters 2000 releasing on PS Store

Sony via the Playstation Blogcast announced that this week, May 3rd to be exact SNK will be dropping The King of Fighters 2000 onto the PS Store via the Ps2/Ps4 section. The pricing has yet to be announced and also it’s unsure if it’ll be the censored US version or the uncensored EU version but expect the usual tweeks such as smooth frame rate, online play, remote play & trophy support.

KoF 2000 puts you in the middle of the NESTS saga and expands on the Striker Assist system first brought into the game in ’99, the system allows you to “summon” a team member to attack to help expand devastating combos. This was the last KoF in the series to be produced by SNK who went bankrupt soon after and sent the series on it’s small decline before XIII returned it to glory. It seems SNK (formally SNK Playmore) are taking this comeback more than seriously and we are more than happy to see them return with this release, XIV & The Last Blade 2 all releasing from them this year.
